Foods that balance the pH level – the transition from an acidic to an alkaline body
An imbalance in the pH level (acid-alkaline) in your body can affect the nervous system (depression), cardiovascular system (heart disease), muscles (fatigue), and skin (aging). If your body is highly acidic, mineral reserves become depleted and your body uses whatever source it can take minerals from, a process that can cause health problems. While in the alkaline environment, your body reaches an ideal weight and corrects health challenges naturally.
In order to provide your body with the nutrients it needs, include alkaline foods in your diet. Alkaline foods neutralize acids and toxins in the blood, lymph and tissues, strengthening the immune system, organs and well-being. As a general rule, 80% of your diet should be alkaline foods.

What is pH?
Hydrogen potential (pH) is a logarithmic scale that measures the relative acidity or alkalinity of a solution. Solutions are scaled from 0 (quite acid) to 14 (quite alkaline). 7 neutral. The intracellular fluid should have a pH of around 6.8. Many health food stores sell pH test papers so you can measure your pH balance at home.
